"think of me" is the closing song on places i’ll eat, people i’ll meet. however, the song was originally written by my great-grandfather bill vuono (with lyrics by his wife), who tried to sell the song to many companies to no avail and (among his entire output) ended up dying unknown
here is the original demo of the track, with bill on piano and his friend earl singing. for the album version i re-harmonized, re-arranged, and pretty much re-wrote the song
the song was written sometime in the 20s, and i believe this demo is from the late 40s/early 50s.
thoughts can paint a picture, dreams can reach a star—some no matter where you are. if you think of me and i am thinking too, you will know that i love you.
think of me, i’ll promise too i’ll think of you. days are long, love is so strong, what can i do? you’re in my heart, darling, though we’re apart. only dear, never fear, that i shall heal you
in my dreams, i see a face sleep can’t erase. off with me, faith can restore life as before til that day when i am with you again. think of me, i promise too
